Hello! Welcome to the elle images blog and thanks so much for stopping by! This is where you will find my most recent work.

A little info about me... my name is Laura, and I am the owner and photographer of elle images. I was born and raised in Aloha, Oregon but I have always been a sunshine girl which is a big reason why I found myself in Arizona for my last years of college. After getting my degree in photography from Northern Arizona University, I decided to move back to the Great Northwest. I started elle images in 2005 and I feel so grateful to have had the amazing clients that I have over the years, along with the support from my friends and family. And also starting my business lead me to meet my husband while we were both shooting a wedding in 2007. He was a wedding videographer, and still does video work on occasion, and always has a creative project in the works. In 2011 we welcomed our first son, Hayden, into the world and in 2016 we welcomed our second son, Ryland, into the world. My boys are my everything and being their mom is the thing I am most grateful for in this life! Motherhood has taught me so much and I think has made me a better photographer (and human) too. I love photographing people but children are what really inspire me the most. Each child is unique and I always try my best to connect with, and photograph who they truly are on my shoots.
No matter what I am doing my goal these days is to do my best to enjoy each moment as it comes and stay in the present. One thing I have learned is that life will continue to surprise us and we never really know what is just around the corner, but after all the highs and lows I have been through, I welcome it all and know everything and every person has something beautiful for me to embrace or to teach me.

I specialize in natural light, lifestyle photography and I absolutely love what I do. Being able to share special moments with people in their lives and create record of those memories for them makes me thankful everyday. Not to mention all the friendships I have made along the way. Shirlyn’s cute belly|Maternity Photography

Last weekend I drove out to Reuben & Shirlyn’s place in Hood River. It was a gorgeous day and there was still snow on the ground out there but we got blue sky as well… it was perfect. I have had the pleasure of photographing their wedding as well as photos of their baby girl Evelyn when she was born and for her first birthday as well. They are about to move into a new home and they just got the keys before our shoot so we had access to a beautifully lit, empty home which was awesome for the shoot. And the surrounding area is just gorgeous as well. I had so much fun doing this shoot with them and I just love how the photos turned out. Evelyn is going to be such a sweet big sister. I also have some super cute shots with the baby’s name but that remains a secret for now so maybe I will share those after he arrives. 🙂

Annisa|Maternity Photography

Annisa is going to have a baby girl and I was so honored she asked me to document this special time in her life. I met up with Annisa, Randy and Trenton a little over a week ago at Annisa’s parent’s home to do maternity photos. I thought it was neat that we were doing these photos in the home she grew up in, and now where she will bring her little girl to see Grandma and Grandpa. Annisa has also asked me to take photos when her little one arrives so look for future photos of this growing family. Can’t wait to meet this baby girl!

George 6 months|Baby Photography

On Sunday I took a lovely drive out to Yacolt, WA to see how much George had grown. The last time I saw him he was only a week old and now he is 6 months! Crazy how time flies. George was all smiles the whole time I was there and he was just too much fun to photograph. Mackenzie also had some really fun ideas for shots that I think turned out super cute and I am pretty sure I will have to duplicate with my boy. 🙂

Joey+Alyson|Wedding Photography

On January 7th Joey and Alyson tied the knot at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Beaverton and their reception took place at Meriwether Golf Course. They are such a good looking couple that it made my job pretty easy that day. 🙂 I could tell how crazy they are about eachother the whole day, much like during their engagement shoot, it was so sweet. Their families were so much fun to be around as well and since this was my first day back at work and being away from my baby boy I was very glad I was spending it with such wonderful people. It made it a little bit easier to handle.

We also lucked out with a clear day in January so we were able to do outside photos which I wasn’t really expecting going into the day. It really was a wonderful wedding with beautiful people from the inside out, and the perfect way to start off the new year behind the camera!

Thank you Joey & Alyson for having me shoot your wedding (and for allowing me to feed my baby during dinner time too!) 🙂 You guys are the best!

I’m a mama…

I took a little break from playing catch up on my 2011 blogging to have a baby. Meet Hayden Clark Winterrowd…

My labor was pretty intense lasting almost 40 hours ending in a C-section since my baby boy was farely large, 9 lbs 6.5 ounces, and my body refused to let me push him out. That’s what I get for marrying a 6’6″ fella I suppose but I wouldn’t change a thing about my experience. Bringing a life into the world is the most amazing thing ever and shouldn’t be a simple and easy thing… and it wasn’t. 🙂 He definitely got his Daddy’s good looks and I’m pretty sure height too, and definitely all his love.
