Hello! Welcome to the elle images blog and thanks so much for stopping by! This is where you will find my most recent work.

A little info about me... my name is Laura, and I am the owner and photographer of elle images. I was born and raised in Aloha, Oregon but I have always been a sunshine girl which is a big reason why I found myself in Arizona for my last years of college. After getting my degree in photography from Northern Arizona University, I decided to move back to the Great Northwest. I started elle images in 2005 and I feel so grateful to have had the amazing clients that I have over the years, along with the support from my friends and family. And also starting my business lead me to meet my husband while we were both shooting a wedding in 2007. He was a wedding videographer, and still does video work on occasion, and always has a creative project in the works. In 2011 we welcomed our first son, Hayden, into the world and in 2016 we welcomed our second son, Ryland, into the world. My boys are my everything and being their mom is the thing I am most grateful for in this life! Motherhood has taught me so much and I think has made me a better photographer (and human) too. I love photographing people but children are what really inspire me the most. Each child is unique and I always try my best to connect with, and photograph who they truly are on my shoots.
No matter what I am doing my goal these days is to do my best to enjoy each moment as it comes and stay in the present. One thing I have learned is that life will continue to surprise us and we never really know what is just around the corner, but after all the highs and lows I have been through, I welcome it all and know everything and every person has something beautiful for me to embrace or to teach me.

I specialize in natural light, lifestyle photography and I absolutely love what I do. Being able to share special moments with people in their lives and create record of those memories for them makes me thankful everyday. Not to mention all the friendships I have made along the way. Brian + Aimee 4.8.11|Wedding Photography

On April 8th I shot Brian and Aimee’s wedding to kick off my wedding season for the year. Aimee and I had so much fun getting together for coffee and chatting about her wedding and all of her planning definitely paid off. It was a beautiful day, with gorgeous weather and the trees on the waterfront blossomed just in time for the big day… which she was really hoping for. 🙂 I had so much fun doing Brian and Aimee’s engagement shoot that I knew their wedding day would be great as well.

All the details that Aimee put so much work into were perfect. We started at the Embassy Suites downtown, which was perfect for the getting ready photos and some of the bride and groom, then the bridal party jumped on a party bus and we drove to a few different spots in Portland for group photos and then headed to The Old Church for the family photos and the ceremony. Afterwards the reception was held at the beautiful Adrianna Ballroom. All in all it was a wonderful day with wonderful people.

Joel & Kristin|Engagement photography

Joel & Kristin are two of the most photogenic people ever! They are also some of the nicest, most fun and laid back people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Their Cannon beach wedding was so unbelievable gorgeous, I will be posting photos from that day soon. 🙂 When I first met up with Kristin I was so excited she chose me to shoot her wedding, I felt like I had known her forever, and it was great getting to know Joel during their mini engagement shoot. Carter & Trenton|Children Photography

Back in April I did photos of Carter & Trenton at Rood Bridge park. It was a very cold day and it started pouring down rain about 5 mins after we finished shooting, which was lucky timing, and the cold allowed them to wear their awesome furry hats, which I loved. 🙂 Both Carter & Trenton are so cute and such sweet brothers, it was a joy taking their photos.

I had such a good time with the Gomez family last month when we met up at the George Fox University campus. We were all laughing pretty much the whole time… even though it was very chilly out. Despite the coldness I feel like I really lucked out on the weather this year. Usually I have so many rescheduled shoots due to rain but this was another day where the rain held off just long enough for the shoot, and the fall colors were beautiful… as were Kathy and Rudy’s three kids!

Alayah|Newborn Photography

Last month I spent the morning with Tiffany and her beautiful baby girl Alayah. She was so sweet and so much fun to take pictures of. I have done pretty much all baby boy sessions this year so it was really fun to do photos of a baby girl. And Tiffany loves this baby girl sooooo much. It was so special to see. I love the mommy daughter shots from this session!
