A little info about me... my name is Laura, and I am the owner and photographer of elle images. I was born and raised in Aloha, Oregon but I have always been a sunshine girl which is a big reason why I found myself in Arizona for my last years of college. After getting my degree in photography from Northern Arizona University, I decided to move back to the Great Northwest. I started elle images in 2005 and I feel so grateful to have had the amazing clients that I have over the years, along with the support from my friends and family. And also starting my business lead me to meet my husband while we were both shooting a wedding in 2007. He was a wedding videographer, and still does video work on occasion, and always has a creative project in the works. In 2011 we welcomed our first son, Hayden, into the world and in 2016 we welcomed our second son, Ryland, into the world. My boys are my everything and being their mom is the thing I am most grateful for in this life! Motherhood has taught me so much and I think has made me a better photographer (and human) too. I love photographing people but children are what really inspire me the most. Each child is unique and I always try my best to connect with, and photograph who they truly are on my shoots.
No matter what I am doing my goal these days is to do my best to enjoy each moment as it comes and stay in the present. One thing I have learned is that life will continue to surprise us and we never really know what is just around the corner, but after all the highs and lows I have been through, I welcome it all and know everything and every person has something beautiful for me to embrace or to teach me.

I specialize in natural light, lifestyle photography and I absolutely love what I do. Being able to share special moments with people in their lives and create record of those memories for them makes me thankful everyday. Not to mention all the friendships I have made along the way. The Kumar Family|Portraits

I have had so much fun getting to know all the members of the Kumar family over the last year and a half. I first had the opportunity to work with Meena & Samir and their adorable kids, Simran and Milind, to do some family photos and then I also got to shoot Milind’s 1st birthday party which was really fun. Then I got to do family photos for Hiral & Sunil after they welcomed their baby girl Sonam into the world just a few months ago. They are such great people and also super photogenic 🙂 so when they contacted me about another family shoot I was super excited to get to work with them again. This time the shoot included Samir and Sunil’s father and it was so neat to see how proud he was of his sons and how happy he is to be a grandpa too! Here are some of my favorites! Thanks again to the Kumar’s for sharing all these moments with me!!!

Crystal|Senior Portraits

Last Sunday I took a nice little drive out to Scappoose, OR for Crystal’s senior portrait session. We took the photos on her family’s property, which was beautiful. And besides the constant gusts of wind that we were battling, it actually turned out to be a really lovely day. Crystal has such beautiful eyes, and pretty long hair, and she was so much fun to hang out with/take photos of. Also, every once in a while there was a nice little breeze that would give her that perfect wind blown hair moment. 🙂 Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

It has been so much fun getting to photograph Brayden over the last couple months, from when he was still in his Mommy’s belly, to being just hours old, and most recently a few weeks old. He is so cute with his chubby cheeks and perfect little lips. Steve & Tiffany definitely made one handsome little baby boy! Thank you guys for allowing me to be a part of these special moments in your life. It has been wonderful getting to know you. Hope you are getting some sleep! 🙂

Brian & Aimee|Engagement photos

Last friday I met up with Brian and Aimee down on the waterfront for a mini engagement shoot… they were so cute that I sort of turned it into a regular sized engagement shoot… 🙂 Brian lives up in Seattle and he had just arrived in Portland right before our shoot. It was obvious how excited they were to see eachother. They were so sweet together! When Aimee and I met up a while back to talk about her big day, and to determine if they wanted to use me as their photographer I left the meeting feeling like I had just made a new best friend… and also I was really hoping I would get the job. Luckily I did, and I am so excited to be shooting their wedding in just a couple months, even more so after this super fun mini shoot with them!

On Monday, January 17th at 6:05pm, Tiffany and Steve welcomed their baby boy Brayden into the world. I had the wonderful priveledge of being there to capture some of his first moments. It was such an honor to be included in this day in their lives and nothing is more special than the experience of seeing brand new life. I am really looking forward to our newborn shoot in the next couple weeks and the chance to take more photos of this sweet little guy. Congratulations to Tiffany and Steve on their perfect addition to their family! Thank you again for asking me to take photos on that special day!
